St Helens is a town in Merseyside, with a population of 102,629. The current average sale price is £135,559.

St Helens was a centre for glassmaking and coal mining during the Industrial Revolution. Other industries in the town included copper smelting and brewing. Sites of interest in the town include the Church of St Helen, which was constructed between 1920 and 1926 and is Grade II listed. Other historic churches in St Helens include St Nicholas' Church (built in 1847-9), Holy Cross Church (built in 1860), St Peter's Church (built in 1864-5), St John the Evangelist (built in 1869) and All Saints' Church (built in 1891-3); all of these churches are Grade II listed buildings. The Statue of Queen Victoria lies in Victoria Square and was unveiled in 1905; it is Grade II* listed.

Other attractions in the town include the North West Museum of Road Transport, which was founded in 1981 and has a variety of vehicles on display, including buses, cars, trucks and fire engines. The Citadel Arts Centre hosts music and theatre, and is the only arts centre in the town.

St Helens has facilities for sports such as football, rugby and cricket. St Helens Town A.F.C. is the town's football club and they play their home games at Ruskin Drive Sports Ground. The town has several parks, including Taylor Park, which is Grade II listed and opened in 1893. Victoria Park has facilities such as tennis courts and a skate park. Sherdley Park covers an area of 336 acres and has a golf course, open woodland and a lake.

There are numerous primary and secondary schools in the area, including The Sutton Academy, St Cuthbert's Catholic High School, St Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic High School, De La Salle School and Cowley International College.

The town has two railway stations: St Helens Central and St Helens Junction. St Helens Central railway station offers services to destinations including Wigan, Blackpool, Preston and Liverpool. There are local bus services in operation in the town to locations such as Widnes and Warrington.
